Integrating Adobe Workfront with Sprinklr

The Sprinklr and Adobe Workfront integration connects Workfront’s Workflow and Planning modules with Sprinklr’s publishing environment. This integration enables teams to manage the entire marketing lifecycle, from campaign planning in Workfront to draft creation, collaboration, and publishing in Sprinklr.
With this integration, teams can plan campaigns in Adobe Workfront and automatically generate draft posts in Sprinklr, enriched with metadata and media assets. These drafts can then be refined, collaborated on, and published directly to the appropriate channels.

Supported Modules
The Sprinklr and Adobe Workfront integration supports both Workflow (Task) and Planning (Record) modules in Adobe Workfront.
Workfront Workflow (Task): Workflow is designed for execution, helping teams organize, track, and manage tasks and projects. When connected to Sprinklr, teams can plan tasks in Workflow and generate draft posts with metadata and media assets in Sprinklr.
Workfront Planning (Record): Planning provides a strategic layer for managing records that represent campaigns or initiatives. When connected to Sprinklr, these records translate into draft posts for execution and publishing, ensuring continuity from campaign planning to delivery.
Key Features
Send to Sprinklr Action: Allows users to send Workfront task details to Sprinklr, including media, metadata, tags, and social copy.
Automatic Draft Creation in Sprinklr: When a task is sent from Workfront, Sprinklr automatically generates a draft post. Editors can refine the content, schedule publication, or publish directly.
Field Mapping Between Workfront and Sprinklr: Configured field mappings ensure that task details are transferred accurately. Only mapped fields are synced to the Sprinklr draft.
Draft-Level Synchronization: Updates to mapped fields remain synchronized between Workfront and Sprinklr while the post is in draft state. Once the draft is published in Sprinklr, synchronization stops.
Bidirectional Navigation: Sprinklr automatically updates the Workfront task with the Draft ID and draft permalink, enabling easy navigation between the Workfront task and the corresponding Sprinklr draft. Conversely, Sprinklr drafts also display the Workfront Task Permalink, ensuring smooth cross-platform navigation.
Media Asset Handling: Attachments added in Workfront are automatically transferred to Sprinklr, ensuring seamless access to media files during post creation.

Prerequisites
Before configuring the integration, ensure you have:
This is a paid integration. Confirm that you are subscribed to the Adobe Workfront app by contacting your Success Manager or Sprinklr Support at tickets@sprinklr.com.
You have access to the Integrated Applications permission in Sprinklr.
You can access the Sprinklr Marketplace to install and configure the Adobe Workfront app.
Installation Steps
To install Adobe Workfront from Sprinklr Marketplace, follow these steps:
1. Click the New Page (+) icon to open the Launchpad.
2. Under Platform Modules > Integrate, click All Marketplace.
3. Search for Adobe Workfront. On the application card, click Install.
4. On the Install Adobe Workfront window, enter the following details:

5. Click Next.
6. Click Add User.
You are directed to the Client Details screen, where you will provide the authentication details for Adobe Workfront.
7. In the Client Details window, configure the following fields.

App Type | Choose Workfront app type: • Task: Select this to integrate with Workfront Workflow. • Record: Select this to integrate with Workfront Planning. |
Instance URL | The URL of your Workfront instance. For example, https://yourcompany.my.workfront.com. |
Client ID | A unique identifier for the integration, used for authentication. You can get this from your Workfront instance. |
Client Secret | A secure key paired with the Client ID to authenticate API calls. You can get this from your Workfront instance. |
8. Click Verify & Add.
The client details are verified.
9. Depending on the App Type you selected, this screen will differ:
For Task app type, configure the following fields:
Field | Description |
Task category | Displays the list of custom forms configured in your Workfront environment. Select the relevant custom form to attach it to the task. The task will then include the fields defined in that form.
The custom form will show Sprinklr‑specific fields such as Send to Sprinklr action, Draft ID, and Sprinklr permalink, providing direct linkage between Workfront tasks and Sprinklr drafts. |
Projects | Shows the projects created in your Adobe Workfront environment. Select the relevant project to associate with the task. You can select multiple projects. |
For Record app type, configure the following fields:

10. Click Save.
The application is installed. You are directed to the application details window where you can view, configure field mapping, and manage visibility of the application.

This window displays the installation information for your Adobe Workfront application. It provides key details to help you identify and manage the integration.

Use this screen to map fields between Adobe Workfront and Sprinklr. This screen will differ for Task and Record app types.

Manage Visibility
Use this screen to control who can access the application. Visibility can be configured at different levels to ensure the right users and teams have access.
Option | Description |
Workspaces | Share the application across one or more workspaces. All users within those workspaces will be able to access and use the application. |
User Groups | Grant access to specific user groups. Useful when visibility should be restricted to a defined set of users with similar roles or responsibilities. |
Individual Users | Assign visibility to specific users. Ensures only selected individuals can view or interact with the application. |
Field Mapping - Workfront Workflow
Add Adobe Workfront mapping configurations to connect Workfront tasks and projects with Sprinklr. Configure the following fields to ensure synchronization and reverse sync functionality.

Mandatory Field Mappings
To enable synchronization between Adobe Workfront and Sprinklr, certain fields must always be mapped. These mandatory mappings ensure that tasks and posts can be uniquely identified, navigated, and updated across both platforms.
The following fields must be mapped to their corresponding Sprinklr custom or channel fields to establish a reliable sync.

Custom Field Mappings
In addition to the mandatory mappings, you can configure custom field mappings to align Workfront task attributes with Sprinklr fields.
Field Mapping - Workfront Planning
Field mapping ensures record details flow accurately between Adobe Workfront Planning and Sprinklr. Configure the following options to establish reliable synchronization:

Common Mandatory Mappings
Configure the Common Mandatory Fields to ensure synchronization between Sprinklr and Workfront. These fields are required and allow records to be uniquely identified, navigated, and updated across both platforms.
The following fields are surfaced automatically and must be mapped to the corresponding custom fields in Sprinklr to establish a reliable sync:

Configure Record Fields
After configuring the mandatory mappings, set up individual record fields (both mandatory and custom) for the selected record types. These record types are those chosen in Manage Records.
Using the Integration
The steps below describe how to use the integration across Adobe Workfront and Sprinklr:
1. Send Workfront Task to Sprinklr
Once a campaign or content task is ready in Adobe Workfront, you can send it directly to Sprinklr to create a draft post for publishing. The Send to Sprinklr action automatically transfers task details, such as content, mapped fields, and media assets, eliminating manual copy-paste and ensuring seamless continuity between planning and publishing.
To send tasks to Sprinklr:
1. Open the task in Workfront.
2. In the Task Details tab, expand the Sprinklr Task Form section.
3. Set the Send to Sprinklr field to Yes. Then, click Save Changes and refresh the page.
A draft post is automatically created in Sprinklr. The Sprinklr Draft ID and Sprinklr Draft Permalink fields are auto-populated.
4. Click the Sprinklr Draft Permalink to open the draft post in Sprinklr.
5. In Sprinklr, click Edit to continue working on the draft.
The draft’s Properties tab displays the mapped fields synchronized from Workfront. It also includes a link to the original Workfront task, allowing you to navigate back to it directly.
In the draft’s Media tab, the associated media files are available.
2. Edit and Publish in Sprinklr
1. From the Accounts dropdown, select the accounts you want to publish from.
2. Use the Sprinklr post editor to complete the post content.
3. After finalizing, publish the post immediately or schedule it for later.
3. Verify Published Post
Once the post is published, Sprinklr notifies you directly in the platform. It also updates the Permalink field in Workfront with the published link.
Click the permalink to view the published post.
You have successfully planned the task in Adobe Workfront and published the post through Sprinklr, leveraging Workfront’s workflow capabilities alongside Sprinklr’s publishing features.
(Optional) Bi‑Directional Sync
The Adobe Workfront integration supports bi‑directional synchronization, enabling draft posts created in Sprinklr to be sent to Adobe Workfront as tasks. This integration also supports multiple Workfront projects, allowing users to route Sprinklr draft posts to specific projects and import tasks from multiple projects back into Sprinklr.
How it works
When bi‑directional sync is enabled, users can send draft posts to Workfront by setting the custom field configured for this integration. Defining it triggers the transfer of the post to the designated Workfront project.
Note: The custom field used for sending draft posts to Workfront is configurable, meaning administrators can define which specific custom field is used.
