Configure Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) for Voice AI Providers

Updated

Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) enables administrators to add and manage provider API keys in AI+ Studio and use those providers in Text-to-Speech (TTS) and Speech-to-Text (STT) configurations. Once configured, the provider's voices and transcription capabilities become available for use in Voice AI workflows.

This article is intended for:

  • Platform Administrators

  • Contact Center Administrators

  • Voice AI Administrators

Benefits of BYOK

With BYOK, you can:

  • Manage access to supported TTS and STT providers directly from the Sprinklr platform.

  • Access provider-specific voices and speech processing capabilities.

  • Identify whether a provider resource is using a Sprinklr-managed key or a customer-managed key through the Key Management indicator.

Prerequisites

Ensure that:

  • You have administrator access to AI+ Studio.

  • You have a valid API key from the provider you want to configure.

  • The provider is supported within your environment.

  • Required permissions are enabled for AI provider management.

Configure a BYOK Provider

Perform the following steps to configure a BYOK Provider:

  1. Navigate to AI+ Studio from the Sprinklr Launchpad.

  2. Navigate to Providers.

  3. Click Add Provider.

  4. From the provider list, select the Voice AI provider you want to configure.

  5. Click Next. Supported providers vary by environment and licensing. Only providers available in your account will appear in the list.

  6. Enter Provider details:

    • Enter a unique configuration name.

      • This name is used for identification purposes.

      • It does not need to match the actual provider name.

    • Enter the provider API key.

    • Save the configuration. After saving, the provider is added as a BYOK configuration.

Synchronization Process

After a provider is configured, Sprinklr synchronizes the provider resources.

Note: Synchronization can take up to 2 hours.

During this period:

  • Voices may not appear immediately.
  • Provider resources might not be available for selection.
  • Voice libraries and provider listings continue to update in the background.

Use a BYOK Provider in Text-to-Speech (TTS)

After synchronization is complete:

  1. From the AI+ Studio, navigate to Voice AI > Text-to-Speech Configurations.

  2. Create a new TTS configuration or edit an existing one. For more information on configuring TTS, refer to the Configuring Voice AI TTS.

  3. Open the provider or voice selection section.

  4. Select a voice from the BYOK provider.

  5. Save the configuration.

Identify BYOK Voices

The Voice Library displays ownership information for provider resources.

Resources configured using customer-managed credentials display BYOK instead of Sprinklr Key.

Use a BYOK Provider in Speech-to-Text (STT)

After synchronization is complete:

  1. From the AI+ Studio, navigate to Voice AI > Speech-to-Text Configurations.
  2. Create or edit an STT configuration. For more information on configuring STT, refer to the Configuring Voice AI STT.
  3. Select the BYOK-enabled provider.
  4. Save your changes.
