Cookies Used by Sprinklr Community

Updated

Sprinklr Community websites use cookies to improve the user experience and provide important functionality. Cookies are small data files stored on the user’s device. They help with session management, personalization, security, and performance tracking.

Sprinklr uses different types of cookies:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: Required for the core functions.

  • Functional Cookies: Used to remember user preferences.

  • Analytics Cookies: Help us measure performance and usage.

connect.sid

The connect.sid cookie helps keep the application secure by confirming that requests to backend services are coming from valid users.

Note: The connect.sid cookie does not apply to users who are not logged in to the Community. It is only used when a login is required.

  • For unauthenticated users: It stores a short-lived token (valid for 12 hours) to verify that API requests are coming from trusted sources.

  • For authenticated users: It stores the user's ID and a token used for verifying requests and identity. This token expires when the user logs out.

This cookie does not store personal data or browser-specific information.

  • Category: Strictly Necessary

  • Duration: 12 hours (customizable for logged-in users)

  • Drop Criteria: Always

Cookies are used on Community websites to support user sessions, enhance user experience and functionality by storing small pieces of data on the user’s device. We have strictly necessary cookies for core operations, functional cookies for personalization, and analytics cookies to measure performance and usage.

spr_device_id

The spr_device_id cookie creates a random ID to track each unique browser session for users who are not logged in.

It ensures certain actions like voting in anonymous polls, viewing article read counts, and giving feedback on posts are counted only once per session.

Without this, every page refresh would look like a new session, leading to false counts or misuse.

  • Category: Functional (Can be marked as Strictly Necessary if the features are in use)

  • Duration: 1 year

  • Drop Criteria: Always.

SPR_AT

The SPR_AT cookie is used to prevent Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks and is only required for authenticated users. It stores no personal data.

  • Category: To be defined

  • Duration: Session

  • Drop Criteria: Conditional (on login).

Language

The language cookie Remembers the user’s preferred language across sessions. Without this, the site will reset to the default language every time a user visits.

Note: This cookie will be enabled only when more than one language or country is available.

  • Category: Functional

  • Duration: 1 year

  • Drop Criteria: Conditional (if multi-language support is enabled).

Country

The country cookie Stores the user’s selected country to show country-specific content. Without this, users will always see the default country view on every visit.

  • Category: Functional

  • Duration: 1 year

  • Drop Criteria: Conditional (if country-based content is enabled).

cf_group

The cf_group saves the user's selected custom group. These groups are used to show content tailored to specific user segments. Without this cookie, the default group will load every time.

  • Category: Functional

  • Duration: 1 year

  • Drop Criteria: Conditional (if the custom group feature is enabled).

Theme

The theme cookie Remembers the user's chosen theme (like dark mode or light mode). Without it, users will see the default theme each time they visit.

  • Category: Functional

  • Duration: 1 year

  • Drop Criteria: Conditional (if theme switching is enabled).

AWS Cookies (AWSALB and AWSALBCORS)

These cookies are set by Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help with load balancing and keeping users connected to the same server during a session. They are used only for communities hosted on AWS, and not for those using Azure or Google Cloud (GCP).

  • Category: Performance

  • Duration: 1 week

  • Drop Criteria: Always.

sess_exp_time

The sess_exp_time cookie is used to show a reminder when the user's session is about to expire due to inactivity. It doesn’t store any personal data.

  • Category: Functional

  • Duration: 48 hours

  • Drop Criteria: Conditional (only on login and if feature is enabled).

spr_analytics

The spr_analytics cookie tracks website metrics such as page views, unique visitors, and session duration. This data is collected only by Sprinklr and is not shared with or tracked by any third-party services like Google Analytics.

  • Category: Performance/Marketing

  • Duration: 1 year

  • Drop Criteria: Conditional (based on feature enablement).
