Change Sets for AI Agent Configuration Migration and Deployment
Updated
Change Sets provide a standardized way to migrate AI Agent configurations between environments. Organizations typically build and validate configurations in lower environments before deploying them to production. By packaging related entities into a single Change Set, administrators can migrate and deploy AI Agent configurations more efficiently while maintaining consistency across environments.
With support for AI Agent and Conversational AI assets, Change Sets help simplify environment-to-environment migrations and ensure that dependent entities are deployed together.
Environment-to-Environment Migration
Use Change Sets to move AI Agent configurations across environments. This enables teams to develop and test configurations in sandbox environments before promoting them to production through a controlled deployment process.
AI Agent Entity Support
Change Sets support the migration of the following AI Agent and Conversational AI entities:
- AI Agent Applications
- AI Agents
- Agent Tasks
- Skills
- Intent Models
- Dialogue Trees
- Conversational AI components
- Related dependent entities
This allows complete AI Agent implementations to be migrated as a single deployment package.
Dependency Management
Dependent entities can be included within the same Change Set to maintain relationships between AI Agents and supporting components. This helps ensure successful deployments and reduces the risk of missing dependencies in the target environment.
Structured Deployment Process
A typical deployment workflow includes:
- Configure assets in a lower environment.
- Validate and test configurations.
- Create a Change Set containing the required entities.
- Review the deployment package.
- Deploy the Change Set to the target environment.
This approach helps reduce configuration drift and promotes deployment consistency.
Create a Change Set
- Click the New Tab icon and select All Settings under Platform Modules.
- From the left navigation pane, select Sandbox Manager.

- In Sandbox Manager, select Outbound Change Sets.
- Click Create New in the upper-right corner.
Enter the required details:
- Name
- Description
- Action Type – Select Update if exists (recommended) to update existing entities in the destination environment instead of creating duplicates.
- Destination Partner
Add the required entities to the Change Set. Depending on your migration requirements, you can include:
- Conversational AI / AI Agent Applications
- AI Agent Tools
- AI Agent Tasks
- Other supported AI Agent entities
- (Optional) Configure filters to include only specific entities that meet your migration criteria.
Review the Preview of Objects section before creating the Change Set. The preview displays:
- Entities – Number of entity types selected for migration.
- Total Count – Total available objects for the selected entity types.
- Selected Count – Number of objects included after filters are applied.

- Ensure that AI Agents and all required dependent entities are included in the Change Set.
- Click Save.
