The Handover Function Tool allows your AI Agent to transfer control seamlessly between tasks within a workflow. It ensures that conversations flow smoothly from one task to another, while maintaining context. This is particularly useful when you need to route conversations back to the Router Task, display a Customer Profile Overview, or summarize interactions using the Summarizer.

Steps to Configure the Handover Function Tool

Follow these steps to configure the Handover Function Tool:

1. Access the Handover Function Tool

• Navigate to AI Agent Studio from the Sprinklr Launchpad.

• Select the AI Agent where you want to configure the tool.

• Expand the Build section and open Tools.

• Click + Add Tool and select Handover Function Tool from the list.



2. Define Basic Details

• Name: Enter a unique name to identify the tool (for example, Task Switcher or Route Back to Router).

• Description: Provide a short description of the tool’s purpose (for example, Transfers conversation to Summarizer task for context generation).

3. Select Target Task

• Under Task, choose the destination task where the conversation should be handed over. Supported options include:

• Router – Sends the conversation back to the Router Task for re-routing.

• Customer Profile Overview – Routes the conversation to display or retrieve customer profile information.

• Summarizer – Directs the conversation to the Summarizer task for generating interaction summaries.

4. Save Configuration

• Once you have completed the configuration, click Save.

The tool will now appear in the Tools Record Manager and can be used in your AI Agent workflows.
