IVR Version History
Updated
The IVR Version History tab helps administrators track and manage changes made to IVR flows over time by maintaining a chronological record of all deployed versions. It provides visibility into when a version was published, who deployed it, and what changes were introduced compared to the previous version. This allows teams to review historical configurations, audit deployments, understand the evolution of an IVR flow, and restore earlier versions when needed. By combining deployment details, version tracking, and change summaries in a single view, Version History simplifies troubleshooting, supports governance, and enables controlled change management across IVR deployments.
For each deployed version, you can view:
Deployment date and time to identify when the version was published.
Deployment details showing the user who deployed the version.
Version-specific change summaries that highlight modifications introduced since the previous deployment.
If a recently deployed version introduces unexpected behaviour or requires rollback, you can restore an earlier version directly from the Version History tab. Restoring a previous version helps recover a known working configuration, reduce service disruptions, and accelerate issue resolution.

The Version History tab also includes automatically generated change logs that summarize the differences between a version and its immediate predecessor. These human-readable summaries make it easier to understand updates without manually comparing IVR flows.
The change log can capture updates such as:
Nodes added, removed, or modified.
Transition and routing path updates.
Variable additions, removals, or modifications.
Flow-level configuration changes.

Examples of change summaries include:
Added 2 nodes and updated 1 prompt.
Removed 1 condition branch.
Modified 3 transitions.
Added 1 variable and removed 1 unused variable.
For the first saved version of an IVR flow, where no previous version exists for comparison, the Version History panel displays Initial Version.
Automated change logs help administrators, implementation consultants, and support teams quickly identify updates made between versions, making troubleshooting more efficient and improving visibility into IVR modifications.
To make the most of Version History, it is recommended to regularly maintain and deploy updated IVR configurations through established change management processes. Before deploying any changes, validate them in a testing environment to minimise the risk of production issues. Maintaining supporting documentation for significant updates can further help teams understand the rationale behind changes and track the evolution of the IVR over time. Additionally, ensuring that administrators and support personnel are familiar with reviewing version history, interpreting change logs, and restoring previous versions helps organisations manage IVR deployments more effectively.
The IVR Version History tab serves as a centralised audit trail for IVR deployments, enabling teams to maintain operational stability, improve change visibility, and confidently manage updates throughout the lifecycle of an IVR flow.
