View Rule Execution Path from Case Activity

Updated

Sprinklr provides complete visibility into how a rule executed directly from the Case Activity panel. When automation rules execute on a case, users can view the rule execution entry in Case Activity. With the Rule Execution Path feature, users can now open the exact rule flow that executed, including the specific revision of the rule and the path taken during execution.

This helps agents, supervisors, and configuration teams understand why a particular action occurred on a case, making it easier to debug automation, audit rule behavior, and analyze case workflows.

When a rule execution entry is clicked from Case Activity, the system opens the rule flow in a new Sprinklr tab and displays the rule version that was active at the time the rule executed.

Accessing This Feature

Follow these steps to view the rule execution flow from a case.

Step 1: Open Case Activity

  1. Navigate to the Care Console.

  2. Open a Case.

  3. In the Case Details view, go to the Activity panel.

Step 2: Locate Rule Execution Entry

  1. Within the Case Activity timeline, locate the entry that indicates a rule execution.

Step 3: Open the Rule Flow

  1. Click the rule name displayed in the activity entry. The system will:

    • Open a new Sprinklr tab or window

    • Load the rule flow canvas

    • Display the exact rule revision that was active when the rule executed

    • Highlight the execution path that the rule followed

How Rule Revision is Determined

Rules may be updated multiple times over their lifecycle. When viewing the rule execution flow:

  • The system identifies the rule revision active at the execution timestamp

  • That specific revision is loaded in view mode

This ensures that users see the actual rule configuration that ran, rather than the current rule version.

Viewing Multiple Rule Executions

If multiple rules execute around the same time in the case activity timeline:

  • Each rule execution entry is independently clickable

  • Clicking a rule opens its execution flow in a separate tab

  • Users can review multiple rule executions side-by-side across tabs for comparison.

Exception Scenarios

Rule Deleted or Archived: If the rule has been deleted or archived after execution:

  • The viewer displays Rule not available

  • Execution metadata from the activity entry remains visible.

Execution Trace Not Available: If execution path data is unavailable:

  • The rule revision still loads in view mode

  • A message indicates Trace unavailable

Insufficient Permissions: f the user does not have access to the rule:

  • The viewer displays Insufficient permissions
