Customizable Screen Resolution
Updated
The Customisable Screen Resolution feature enables businesses to control the quality of screen recordings by adjusting resolution (such as 720p or 1080p) and frames per second (FPS, such as 15 or 30). These settings help strike a balance between video clarity, network bandwidth, and storage usage—higher values improve quality but also increase resource consumption. By configuring these parameters thoughtfully, businesses can achieve flexibility based on their needs and network capacity, optimize performance by preventing unnecessary load, maintain sufficient recording quality for audits and training, and ensure cost efficiency by minimizing storage and bandwidth usage.
Both Resolution and FPS are configurable:
Resolution: Determines the clarity of the recorded screen (e.g., 720p vs. 1080p).
FPS (Frames per Second): Controls how smooth the recording appears. Higher FPS means smoother video, but more data consumption.
Note:
Increasing resolution and FPS will increase network bandwidth consumption and storage usage.
Default values are optimized for most environments, but you can adjust them based on your requirements.
Following are the Default and Recommended Settings:
Default FPS: 15 fps
Recommended FPS: 15–20 fps for most workflows; 30 fps only for high-motion tasks.
Default Resolution: 720p
Recommended Resolution: 720p for standard tasks; 1080p for detailed workflows where clarity is critical.
Below is an approximate guide for bandwidth usage based on resolution and FPS:
Resolution | FPS | Bandwidth Consumption (Approx.) |
720p | 15 fps | ~0.7 Mbps |
720p | 30 fps | ~1.2 Mbps |
1080p | 15 fps | ~1.5 Mbps |
1080p | 30 fps | ~3 Mbps |
Note: Higher FPS and resolution should only be used if your network and storage can handle the load.
