Building surveys using Template library or starting from scratch

Survey creation allows you to quickly design and deploy surveys using prebuilt templates or by creating a survey from scratch. Templates help accelerate survey creation by providing ready-to-use questions and configurations, while blank surveys offer complete flexibility for custom use cases.

Create a Survey

  1. In the Programs Record Manager, click Create Survey.
  2. Choose one of the following options:

    • Select a survey template from the Template Library.
    • Select Blank Template to create a survey from scratch.

Choose a Survey Template

The Template Library includes survey templates organized by industry and common business use cases.

You can:

  • Browse templates by category.
  • Search for templates using the search bar.
  • Filter templates using the Industry and Goal filters.
  • Review template details before selecting a template.

For each template, you can view:

  • Template description
  • Number of survey questions
  • Estimated survey completion time

Preview a Template

  1. Select a template.
  2. Review the template details displayed in the right pane.
  3. Click Preview to review the survey questions.
  4. Click Choose Template to use the selected template.

Create a Blank Survey

To build a survey from scratch, select the Blank Template card in the Template Library.

Configure Survey Details

After selecting a template or blank survey:

  1. Enter a Survey Name

    • The template name is used as the default survey name.
    • You can update the name as needed.
  2. Select a Base Language

    • The base language is the primary language of the survey.
    • Additional translations can be added later.
    • The base language cannot be changed after creation.
  3. Select a Program

    • The survey is stored under the selected program.
    • This can be updated later if required.
  4. (Optional) Add Survey Tags to help organize and locate surveys.
  5. (Optional) Select an Industry and Brand Name

    • These values help improve AI-generated analytics and insights.
  6. Changes made to Industry or Brand Name after survey creation do not update existing text analytics context.
  7. Configure survey access by adding users or user groups.
  8. Click Create.

Available Survey Templates

The Template Library includes templates for industries such as:

  • Financial Services
  • Retail
  • Technology
  • Food & Beverage
  • Travel & Hospitality
  • Telecommunications
  • Transportation
  • Insurance

It also includes common customer experience survey templates, such as:

  • Customer Satisfaction Surveys
  • Post Call Support Surveys
  • Booking Experience Surveys
  • Onboarding Surveys
  • Churn Feedback Surveys
  • Claim Resolution Surveys
  • Purchase Experience Surveys

Validate Your Survey

After creating and updating the survey:

  1. Open the survey in the Survey Builder.
  2. Review the survey configuration and logic.
  3. Click Preview from the top toolbar.
  4. Verify the survey experience before distribution.

Best Practices

  • Use a template when you want to quickly launch a survey based on a common use case.
  • Create a blank survey when you already have a predefined set of questions or require complete control over survey structure.
  • Review and customize template questions to align with your organization's requirements.
  • Validate skip logic and display logic before publishing the survey.

Limitations

  • Some templates include predefined logic that may require modification when survey questions are updated.
  • Survey templates are available in English by default.
  • To distribute surveys in other languages, use the Translations feature.
  • Modified surveys cannot currently be saved as reusable templates.
