Message Text Filter

Within Reporting Dashboards for the Outbound and Inbound post, at the dashboard level, there is a Message Text option available in the Filter bar. Whereas, a new dimension Message Text is introduced for widget text search. You can filter all your widgets that have a specific text by filtering on the Message Text value. 

The scope of the capability is to make the Text search option available for the Outbound, and Inbound posts in Reporting. It's not a replication of Keyword List in Listening. Keyword Query is not available in the scope of this capability.


This capability in Reporting Dashboards is at Limited Availability. To learn more about getting this capability enabled in your environment, please work with your Success Manager.

How to Search a Text in Reporting Dashboards?

  • When text search is made at Dashboard level and the filter is applied at Widget level —

    • Let's say ABC searched at the dashboard, and at the widget level filter is applied on value XYZ, the resultant search will be based on ABC and XYZ where the widget filter will override the dashboard filter.

  • You can search for multiple characters related to the Inbound & Outbound post. But if you add any operators between the characters, that will also be considered as a character.

    For instance, in the above screenshot, the Message Text filter is applied at the dashboard level. The search is applied for Evoltobor & BumbleBee. Whereas the and is added as an operator, but the Message Text filter considered it as a character. In other words, the operators won't work in the Message Text filter.

  • Only the Inbound & Outbound post will be part of the message text filter. Additionally, this filter is available for Post Insights report type in Social Analytics. Any other report types in Social Analytics are not currently not supported.

  • If you clone a dashboard then the Message Text filter is retained at the dashboard and widget level.

  • The Message Text filter is not case sensitive.

To Apply a Message Text Filter at Dashboard Level

  1. Click the New Tab icon Space Add New Tab Icon. Under the Sprinklr Social tab, click Reporting within Analyze.

  2. From the Reporting Home window, search and select the desired reporting dashboard.


    Tip 

    From the Engagement Home window, you can access all personal and shared Folders and Dashboards. Additionally, you can Search for the desired folders and dashboards by typing in keywords such as the name of any particular folders and dashboards. 

  3. Within the Filter bar, in the Message Text field, enter a keyword you wish to search for, without a minimum character limit.MessageText.gif

To Apply a Message Text Widget Filter

  1. Click the New Tab icon Space Add New Tab Icon. Under the Sprinklr Social tab, click Reporting within Analyze.

  2. From the Reporting Home window, search and select the desired reporting dashboard.

  3. In an editable widget, hover over the Options icon baseline_more_horiz_black_18dp.png to view widget options and click the Space_Icon_Edit.png Edit Widget.

  4. Under Define Advanced Options, in Filters, select Message Text as the dimension to filter by the text, you wish to filter the widget withWidget_MessageText.png

  5. Update the remaining details as desired. Click Update Widget in the bottom right corner to finalize the changes.
