Container Widgets

Updated

Container Widgets let you create flexible, reusable layouts to be used across Community pages. You can use them to organize widgets into a structured, table-like format of rows and columns. Each row can include up to three columns, and each column can host one or more individual widgets. You can save these layouts and reuse them across multiple pages, making it easier to build consistent headers, footers, and custom content blocks while improving efficiency and design flexibility.

Configure Container Widget

Follow these steps to configure Container Widgets:

  1. Navigate to Community Builder.

  2. Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) icon corresponding to the Community where you want to configure the Container Widget. This displays a list of available options.

  3. Select Edit from the list of options to open the Community configuration page.

  4. Select Container Library from the top toolbar on the Community configuration page.

  5. Click the Add New Container option at the top left of the page to open the Add Container box.

  6. Fill in the required fields in the Add Container section. Fields marked with a red dot are mandatory. Below are the descriptions of all the fields in this section:

    1. Label: Enter the name of the Container Widget for identification. (Required)

    2. Page Type: Select the Page Type for the Container Widget from the available list. (Required)

  7. Select Add to configure the Container Widget by choosing the number of columns and then adding and arranging individual widgets within each column and section. This process is the same as configuring sections when designing a Page Layout.

  8. Click Save when done to save the Container Widget.

Now you can reuse the Container Widget while configuring the Community pages.

Note: Container Widgets cannot be edited while in use on the Page Layout page. To make changes, edit them from the Container Library.
