Compose OpenAI Ads Campaigns

Updated 

Use Ads Composer to create and publish OpenAI Ads campaigns in Sprinklr. You can create campaigns, define budgets and schedules, configure targeting and bidding settings, add creatives, configure campaign settings, and submit ads for review from a single workflow.

Ads Composer guides you through each stage of campaign creation, from entering campaign details to reviewing and publishing the campaign.

Before you begin

Before creating an OpenAI Ads campaign, make sure you:

  • Complete the steps in Set Up OpenAI Ads Accounts to connect an OpenAI Ads account to Sprinklr.

  • Have access to Ads Composer.

  • Have the creative assets and destination URL that you want to use in your ad.

Create an OpenAI Ads campaign

To create and publish an OpenAI Ads campaign, complete the following tasks:

  1. Configure Paid Initiative Details.

  2. Configure Budget & Schedule.

  3. Add Creatives.

  4. Configure Advanced Configuration settings.

  5. Configure Optimization settings.

  6. Review and publish the campaign.

Paid Initiative Details

Use the Paid Initiative Details tab to create the Paid Initiative and define campaign-level settings.

  1. Navigate to Advertising > Ads Composer. The Create New Paid Initiative page appears.

  2. Select the OpenAI Ads account that you want to use. The Ads Composer workflow opens and the Paid Initiative Details tab appears.

  3. Configure the Paid Initiative settings.

  4. Click Next. The Budget & Schedule tab opens.

Paid Initiative Details fields

Description

Selected Ad Account

Displays the selected OpenAI Ads account, including Account name, Timezone, and Currency.

Select Objective for your Paid Initiative

Defines the campaign objective. Available options include:

  • Clicks: Optimizes the campaign for clicks.

  • Reach: Optimizes the campaign for reach.

Paid Initiative Name

Specifies the name of the Paid Initiative. You can choose one of the following options:

  • Enter a name: Allows you to manually enter the Paid Initiative name.

  • Use a Naming Convention: Generates the Paid Initiative name using a configured naming convention.

Locations

Specifies the locations targeted by the campaign.

Enable Paid Initiative Benchmarking

Enables benchmarking for the Paid Initiative. When enabled, the following fields become available:

  • Cost Benchmark Metric: Defines the cost metric used for benchmarking.

  • Cost Metric Value: Specifies the benchmark value for the selected cost metric.

  • Rate Benchmark Metric: Defines the rate metric used for benchmarking.

  • Rate Metric Value: Specifies the benchmark value for the selected rate metric.

Set Sprinklr Campaign

Associates the Paid Initiative with an existing Sprinklr campaign.

Custom Fields

Stores additional campaign information defined by your organization.

Budget & Schedule

Use the Budget & Schedule tab to define campaign budgets, schedules, targeting, and bidding settings.

The Budget & Schedule tab contains settings at the Paid Initiative and Ad Group levels.

Paid Initiative settings

Configure the campaign-level budget and schedule settings.

  1. Select the Paid Initiative from the left pane.

  2. Configure the budget and schedule settings.

  3. Select the Ad Group from the left pane to configure targeting and bidding settings.

Description

Margin Entry Type

Determines how agency margin is applied to the campaign.

Agency Margin

Specifies the agency margin associated with the campaign.

Budget Type

Specifies how the campaign budget is managed. Available options include:

  • Daily Budget: Sets a daily spending limit for the campaign. When selected, the Daily Budget field becomes available.

  • Campaign Budget: Sets the total budget for the entire campaign. When selected, the Lifetime Budget field becomes available.

Start Date

Specifies the date and time when the campaign starts.

End Date

Specifies the date and time when the campaign ends.

Ad Group settings

Configure targeting and bidding settings for the Ad Group.

  1. Enter a value in the Ad Group Name field.

  2. Configure the Context Hints and Maximum CPC Bid fields.

  3. Click Next. The Creatives tab opens.

Ad Group fields

Description

Ad Group Name

Specifies the name of the Ad Group.

Context Hints

Defines the topics and conversation themes used for contextual targeting.

Maximum CPC Bid

Specifies the maximum cost-per-click bid (CPC) amount for the Ad Group.

Creatives

Use the Creatives tab to add creatives to your campaign and review how they appear before publishing.

OpenAI Ads supports one creative format called Chat Card. A Chat Card combines an image, title, body text, and destination URL into a single advertising experience.

  1. Navigate to the Creatives tab.

  2. Click Add another creative. The Select Creatives window appears.

  3. Select the Chat Card creative that you want to use and click Save. The selected creative appears in the left pane and its preview appears on the Creatives tab.

  4. Review the creative preview to verify the creative content.

  5. Click Next. The Advanced Configuration tab opens.

Chat Card

A Chat Card displays the creative content that users see in the OpenAI Ads experience.

Displays the image associated with the creative.

Card Title

Displays the primary message of the ad.

Card Body

Displays supporting text below the title.

Destination URL

Directs users to the landing page associated with the ad.

Ad Account Name

Displays the OpenAI Ads account that serves the ad.

Sponsored Label

Indicates that the content is an advertisement.

Advanced Configuration

Use the Advanced Configuration tab to configure tags, benchmarking settings, conversion tracking, and custom fields.

The settings available on this tab depend on whether you select a Paid Initiative, Ad Group, or Ad Variant from the left pane.

Paid Initiative settings

Use the Paid Initiative settings to configure campaign-level tracking and categorisation settings.

  1. Select the Paid Initiative from the left pane.

  2. Configure the required settings.

  3. Expand the Custom Fields section and update any custom fields, if applicable.

Paid Initiative Name

Displays the name of the Paid Initiative.

Configure Paid Initiative

Lets you categorise and manage the Paid Initiative using:

  • Tags: Categorise and filter the Paid Initiative.

Configure DCM

Opens the DCM Configuration window.

Conversion Events

Selects the conversion events associated with the campaign. Available options include:

  • Items Added

  • Page Viewed U

Custom Fields

Stores additional information defined by your organisation.

DCM Configuration fields

DCM Profile

Selects the Campaign Manager 360 profile.

DCM Advertiser

Selects the Campaign Manager 360 advertiser.

DCM Naming Convention

Applies a naming convention to DCM entities.

DCM Campaign

Associates the campaign with a Campaign Manager 360 campaign. You can:

  • Select an existing campaign using the Use Existing option.

  • Create a new campaign.

DCM Placement Level

Specifies where DCM placements are created. Available options include:

  • Paid Initiative

  • Ad Set

  • Ad Variant

Ad Group settings

Use the Ad Group settings to configure categorisation and benchmarking settings.

  1. Select the Ad Group from the left pane.

  2. Configure the required settings.

  3. Expand the Custom Fields section and update any custom fields, if applicable.

Ad Variant settings

Use the Ad Variant settings to configure categorisation settings for the ad.

  1. Select the Ad Variant from the left pane.

  2. Configure the required settings.

  3. Expand the Custom Fields section and update any custom fields, if applicable.

  4. Click Next. The Optimization tab opens.

Ad Name

Displays the name of the ad.

Configure Ad

Lets you categorise and manage the ad using:

  • Tags: Categorise and filter the ad.

Custom Fields

Stores additional information defined by your organisation.

Optimization

Use the Optimization tab to associate the campaign with a Strategy Group.

  1. Navigate to the Optimization tab.

  2. In the Strategy Groups field, select the Strategy Group that you want to associate with the campaign.

  3. To create a new Strategy Group, click Create New and complete the required configuration.

  4. Click Next. The Review tab opens.

Review

Use the Review tab to review the campaign configuration and choose how to publish the campaign.

  1. Review the campaign summary, including the account, objective, budget, duration, bidding, and creative details.

  2. Expand the Ad Group section to review the associated creative and bid value.

  3. Choose one of the following actions:

    • Click Publish to publish the campaign immediately.

    • Click Publish as Paused to publish the campaign in a paused state.

    • Click Send for approval to send the campaign through the approval workflow.

    • Click Save as Draft to save the campaign and continue working on it later.

Publication results

After publication, Sprinklr creates the campaign, uploads the creative assets, creates the Ad Group, and creates the ad. The ad is then submitted to OpenAI for review.

Ad review statuses

Status

In Review

OpenAI is reviewing the ad.

Approved

OpenAI approves the ad for delivery.

Rejected

OpenAI does not approve the ad for delivery.
