Add Pinterest Accounts with Employee Access

Updated

Overview

Sprinklr now supports Pinterest access based on Pinterest’s native employee access model. When a Pinterest adds you as an employee, you can discover and add it in Sprinklr.

Previously, each authorization added only the Pinterest account associated with the signed-in user. This meant shared businesses, profiles, and ad accounts were not visible and required separate authorizations.

Now, a single authorization retrieves all businesses, profiles, and ad accounts you have permission to access. You can then select and add the required accounts, making Pinterest account management simpler and more accurate.

Note: Access to this feature is controlled by a dynamic property (DPs: PINTEREST_BIZ_ACCESS_SCOPE_ENABLED and PINTEREST_BUSINESS_ACCESS_DISCOVERY_ENABLED). To enable this feature in your environment, reach out to your Success Manager. Alternatively, you can submit a request at tickets@sprinklr.com.

Important: Pinterest states that Publisher permissions are not customizable. Once an employee or partner is granted Publisher access to a profile, they receive the full set of organic profile permissions listed above.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure you are signed in to the Pinterest login that holds the access you want to add.

  • Ensure each business you want to add has added your login as an employee and that the access is active.

  • Ensure you hold Publisher permission on a shared profile. Publisher access is what lets an employee work with profiles, boards, and Pins.

  • Ensure the login you use holds Admin access on the ad account you are adding. Ad account Admin access is mandatory on Pinterest for the login that adds the account.

  • Ensure the shared business has at least one ad account. Sprinklr uses an ad account to set the business context before it can fetch boards and Pins or publish to a shared profile.

Note: A social account can only be added to a single Workspace. To add the same account in different workspaces, admins are required to share that social account with other workspaces. For more information, see Sharing an Account.

Enablement Process

Access to this feature is controlled by dynamic properties (DPs). To enable this feature in your environment, reach out to your Success Manager. Alternatively, you can submit a request at tickets@sprinklr.com. After the dynamic property is enabled, you can add employee-access business accounts in Sprinklr.

Use Cases

  • Manage client or partner brands. An agency user who is an employee of several client businesses adds all of those businesses from one authorization instead of one at a time.

  • Add the right entity the first time. You no longer need to know in advance which Pinterest entity to add, so you are less likely to add the wrong account or miss a valid one.

  • Reduce manual effort. Discovery and selection happen in a single authorization, which removes repeated sign-ins for each account.

  • Keep Sprinklr aligned with Pinterest permissions. The businesses, profiles, and ad accounts offered in Sprinklr match what Pinterest already grants your login.

  • Manage a shared profile end to end. When a shared business has at least one ad account, you can fetch its boards and Pins and publish to its profile from Sprinklr.

Native Access Vs. Sprinklr Access

Pinterest Access Reference

A single Pinterest login can be used to access multiple businesses. For example, the same login can switch between Business 1, Business 2, and Business 3 using the same account.

When you select a business, Pinterest shows the profiles, ad accounts, and catalogues you have access to for that business.

How Sprinklr Works

Sprinklr follows the same approach. When you connect Pinterest, Sprinklr checks all the businesses available to your login. You can then select the businesses, profiles, and ad accounts you want to add to Sprinklr. This means you don't need to connect each business separately.

Steps to Add the Pinterest Account in Sprinklr

1. Click the New Tab icon and, under the Sprinklr Social tab, navigate to Owned Social Accounts within Listen.

2. In the Accounts window, click Add Account.

3. Select Pinterest.

4. In the Pinterest login window, enter the credentials for the Pinterest account that has access to the required businesses.

5. Follow the authentication prompts to authorize Sprinklr to access your Pinterest account.

6. Sprinklr will retrieve the Pinterestes, profiles, and ad accounts that the logged-in user has permission to access.

7. Select the business, profiles, and ad accounts you want to add to Sprinklr.

8. Click Add.

9. Configure the Account Details and Permissions as required, then click Save.
