Ads Publishing Agent: Generate Campaign Drafts from a Media Plan

Updated

Important: Ads Publishing Agent is currently available as a Limited Availability (LA) feature. Contact your Success Manager to enable it for your environment.

Ads Publishing Agent is an AI-powered, conversation-driven capability that converts media plan workbooks into structured campaign entities. Throughout the workflow, you interact with the agent through conversation to review extracted information, ask follow-up questions, resolve clarification requests, inspect source values, review proposed campaign structures, and validate generated drafts before publication.

The agent generates a proposed hierarchy of Paid Initiatives and Ad Sets from the uploaded media plan. In this context, hierarchy generation means organizing campaign information from the workbook into the campaign structure that is used to create draft entities.

Supported channels include Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and Reddit. The workflow combines automation with human review and creates draft campaign entities for validation before publication.

Before you begin

Before you use Ads Publishing Agent:

  • Enable the PAID_MEDIA_PLAN_ENABLED Dynamic Property (DP). Ads Publishing Agent is unavailable when the DP is disabled.

  • You need access to the advertising accounts where campaign entities will be created is required.

  • You need access to Ads Manager is required to review generated draft entities before publication.

Note: To enable the Dynamic Property, contact your Success Manager or Sprinklr Admin. Alternatively, submit a request to tickets@sprinklr.com.

Ads Publishing Agent Workflow

Ads Publishing Agent uses a conversation-driven workflow. Depending on the media plan, the information available, and the questions you ask, the agent may guide you through different review paths before generation.

The workflow commonly includes the following stages:

  1. Analyze the media plan.

  2. Review extracted findings and resolve clarification requests.

    1. Explore the findings through conversation

    2. Resolve clarification requests

  3. Confirm advertising-account assignments.

  4. Review proposed Paid Initiatives.

  5. Generate draft entities.

  6. Review the generated drafts in Ads Manager.

  7. Verify source traceability before publication.

The workflow progresses from understanding the media plan to resolving incomplete or ambiguous inputs, building drafts, and reviewing the generated results before publication.

Note: The stages in this article describe the common workflow. Depending on the media plan and the conversation, some review activities may vary, repeat, or occur in a different sequence before generation continues.

The workflow includes two required review checkpoints:

  • Confirm advertising-account assignments before generation.

  • Review generated entities before publication.

Ads Publishing Agent creates draft entities only. It does not publish campaigns automatically.

For additional context on how Marketing Agents use conversation-driven workflows, see Publishing Agent.

Analyze a Media Plan

  1. Navigate to Sprinklr Social > Social Media Agent. The Social Media Agent screen opens.

  2. From the left navigation panel, click New Chat to start a new conversation.

  3. Click Add Context to attach the media plan workbook and provide additional context to the conversation.

Depending on your environment, you can also use available connectors such as Brands and Campaigns to provide additional business context before generation begins.

  4. Upload the media plan workbook and start the generation workflow. The agent then prompts you to select a campaign-creation mode:

    • Checkpoints: Creates each entity level only after you close the issues associated with that level.

    • Automated: Creates draft entities before you continue to Ads Manager for quality assurance.

Note: Upload the media plan as an Excel workbook (.xlsx, .xlsm) or a delimited file (.csv, .tsv). If you upload an unsupported file type, the agent prompts you to upload a supported format before generation can continue.

  5. Select a mode and click Confirm. The agent analyzes the workbook and displays an Extraction Plan.

Extraction Plan: The agent’s proposed interpretation of the uploaded media plan. It displays the detected sheets and associated channel information that the agent can use during generation.

  6. Review the Extraction Plan to verify the detected sheets and associated channel information.

  7. Select the sheets that should be included and clear the sheets that you want to exclude.

  8. Click Review to continue.

During analysis, the agent identifies information that can be used to generate campaign entities, including:

  • Proposed Paid Initiatives and Ad Sets

  • Advertising channels

  • Objectives

  • Budgets

  • Schedules and flight dates

  • Audiences and targeting information

  • Source sheets, rows, columns, and tables

Expected result: After the sheet review is complete, the agent summarizes the extracted information, highlights potential issues, and identifies values that require clarification. You can then review the findings and provide additional information where required.

Review Findings and Resolve Clarification Requests

After analyzing the selected sheets, Ads Publishing Agent summarizes the extracted information and identifies values that require clarification. Use the conversation to inspect extracted data, review proposed structures, request issue breakdowns, provide corrections, and identify workbook columns that contain the required information.

Explore the Findings Through Conversation

You can use the conversation throughout this stage to explore extracted findings and guide the review process. Depending on the uploaded media plan, the identified issues, and the questions you ask, the conversation may focus on clarification requests, source-value validation, proposed campaign structures, or channel-specific findings.

For example, you can enter the following prompts:

  • Give me a breakdown by channel for the types of clarification needed.

  • How many entities need date clarification, and why?

  • Show me the source value for this clarification.

  • Show the proposed Paid Initiatives for Facebook.

When the agent cannot determine a value, it creates clarification requests and combines related issues into clarification groups for review. A Clarification group combines related clarification requests into a single review item.

A required value may be missing, incomplete, ambiguous, or unable to be mapped to a supported campaign setting. Review the issue details, inspect the source value when necessary, and provide the requested information before continuing.

Resolve Clarification Requests

  1. Review the clarification summary presented by the agent.

  2. Click View Details to open the Review Queue. The Review Queue contains the clarification requests that require your input before the workflow can continue.

  3. Use the available filters when required.

  4. Expand a clarification group.

  5. Review the issue and validation message.

  6. If you need additional context, click View media plan and review the highlighted workbook value and the AI Findings explanation.

AI Findings explain why the agent flagged a value, which source value triggered the issue, and what information is required before the workflow can continue.

  7. Enter the requested value or instruction in Feedback.

  8. Resolve the remaining required clarifications and click Submit.

AI Findings explains:

  • Why a value requires clarification.

  • Which source value triggered the issue.

  • What information is required before the workflow can continue.

Use the conversation to ask follow-up questions when you need additional context.

Expected result: After the required review activities are complete, Ads Publishing Agent prompts you to confirm the advertising accounts for the proposed Paid Initiatives.

Confirm Advertising-Account Assignments

After the required clarification review activities are complete, Ads Publishing Agent advances to account-assignment review. Before the agent generates campaign entities, it requires an advertising-account assignment for each proposed Paid Initiative. This is a mandatory review checkpoint.

To review the assignments:

  1. Open the account-assignment review.

  2. Review the proposed Paid Initiatives.

  3. Select an account in Ad Account.

  4. Use the channel-level apply option when the same account applies to all Paid Initiatives in a channel.

  5. Review the resulting assignments.

  6. Confirm the mappings.

After account confirmation, the workflow proceeds to campaign review.

Important: The agent does not generate campaign entities until advertising-account assignments are confirmed.

Review Proposed Paid Initiatives

After account confirmation, click Review Paid Initiatives to review the proposed Paid Initiatives and their associated Ad Sets before generation continues.

Depending on the channel, the review can display fields such as:

  • Account

  • Objective

  • Special Ad Categories

  • Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO)

  • Budget

  • Start Date

  • End Date

Review the generated values and continue when the structure matches your campaign plan. Depending on the extracted campaign configuration, Ads Publishing Agent may request additional campaign-level settings confirmation before preparing the associated Ad Sets.

For some campaign configurations, Ads Publishing Agent may also prompt you to review the generated Ad Sets before generation continues. Review the displayed Ad Set information and provide any requested feedback.

After review is complete, the workflow proceeds to draft generation.

Generate Campaign Drafts

After you complete the required reviews, the agent generates draft Paid Initiatives and Ad Sets. The agent displays a completion message when generation finishes.

  1. Review the generation completion message.

  2. Click View in Ads Manager to continue validating the generated drafts. Ads Manager opens the generated drafts for review, editing, and validation before publication.

Important: Draft generation does not publish campaign entities or begin spending your advertising budget. The generated entities remain drafts.

Review Drafts in Ads Manager

After generation completes, click View in Ads Manager to open the generated drafts. This is the second required review checkpoint. Use Ads Manager to review, edit, and validate the drafts before publication.

  1. Review the generated hierarchy and confirm that the expected Paid Initiatives and Ad Sets are present.

  2. Verify that each entity uses the intended advertising account.

  3. Review the generated objectives, budgets, targeting parameters, schedules, and governance naming conventions.

  4. Confirm that the generated values match your campaign plan.

  5. Verify that all generated entities remain in Draft status.

  6. Edit any incorrect draft values before publication.

Expected result: The expected Paid Initiatives and Ad Sets appear in Ads Manager, use the intended configuration, and remain in Draft status for review before publication.

Verify Source Traceability

Ads Publishing Agent provides source-traceability information that helps you validate generated values against the uploaded media plan. The release supports verification against source cells, headers, and tables.
