New York, NY – October 13, 2017 – Carlos Dominguez, President of Sprinklr, the first unified customer experience management platform for the enterprise, was named the top executive in the Crain’s Hispanic Executive & Entrepreneur Awards, which honors the achievements of the Hispanic community’s brightest and boldest minds, with distinguished careers and exceptional civic activities. The second annual awards were presented during Hispanic Heritage Month at a ceremony in New York on October 13th.
Born in Cuba to a Cuban father and a Chinese mother, Carlos lived in Miami, New Jersey and Puerto Rico before landing back in the New York metropolitan area. Today, Carlos has more than 30 years of experience in enterprise technology, 22 of which were spent at Cisco in nearly every IT role imaginable. An avid promoter of diversity in the workplace, Dominguez believes that to succeed in today’s competitive world, companies need to embrace the notion of “collective intelligence.” Large groups of people — especially diverse ones with different perspectives and life experiences — will be smarter, as a whole, than any individual.
“I’m so humbled and honored to achieve the Hispanic Executive and Entrepreneur Award from Crain’s New York Business,” said Carlos Dominguez, President, Sprinklr. “I’ll use this achievement to continue to inspire others to foster innovation through a diverse and inclusive workforce. I hope to share what I’ve learned over the last three decades in tech – that hiring marginalized people for the sake of filling a quota will never work. Diversity must be approached with the understanding that it’s making the company better.”
Carlos also serves on several boards of directors, including Medidata Solutions, Inc., the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Foundation, Cisco Foundation, NJIT Board of Overseers & Catalyst, and Princess House.
“For the past 30 years, Crain’s New York Business has proudly reported and advocated on behalf of the entire NYC business community. With the Hispanic Executive and Entrepreneur Awards, we seek to put a spotlight on Hispanic leaders who are pushing the boundaries of excellence – executing innovative business ideas and solutions as well as demonstrating a deep commitment to both the Hispanic community and the NYC business community at large,” said Jill Kaplan, VP Publisher of Crain’s New York Business.
