In Google Messaging for Business, a rich text asset is a feature that allows businesses to create interactive messages to engage with their customers. It enables the display of structured information, making it easier for users to consume and interact with the content.
The use of rich text assets offers several benefits:
1. Interactive elements: Businesses can include interactive elements within the rich text, such as buttons, links, and quick replies, enabling users to take specific actions directly from the message, such as making a purchase or accessing additional information.
2. Improved user experience: By providing a visually appealing and interactive message format, rich text cards enhance the overall user experience and can lead to higher engagement and conversion rates.
3. Versatile content: Rich text cards support various content types, including text, images, buttons, lists, and more. This flexibility allows businesses to tailor their messages to specific use cases, such as product recommendations, order updates, or customer support interactions.
Overall, rich text card assets in Google Messaging for Business offer businesses a powerful tool to deliver visually appealing and interactive messages, resulting in improved customer engagement and a more seamless user experience.
Rich Text Asset Specifications and Limitations
Text messages that include basic Markdown formatting are included in Rich text. You can include hyperlinks or make text bold or italics. The table shows some valid examples:
Formatting | Characters | Plain Text | Rendered text |
Bold | ** | **Some text** | Some text |
Italics | * | *Some text* | Some text |
Hyperlink | []{} | [Click here](https://www.example.com) | |
Line Break | \n | Line one\nLine two | Line one Line two |
The formatting must follow some additional rules:
All links must begin with https:// or http://
Different types of formatting may be nested but may not otherwise overlap.
Line breaks with \n are allowed anywhere in your message, but line breaks at the end of your message don't display.
To normally display any of the reserved characters (*, \, [, or ]), you must prefix them with a backslash character (\).
For more information about valid formatting, see here.
Note: This feature is for messages only, it isn't supported in welcome messages, suggested replies, suggested actions, or rich cards.
