Purpose of the Reward Engine

The Reward Engine is designed to boost user engagement on the Advocacy platform by providing a customisable system for admins to set up and manage redeemable rewards.

This feature is part of the platform’s gamification suite. It helps motivate advocates by letting them exchange points for rewards, encouraging sustained engagement.

With the help of Reward Engine, Admins can now:

  1. Set up an automated points-to-token conversion ratio, tying points to monetary rewards.

  2. Define reward properties, including dollar value per token and expected ROI multiplier.

  3. Manage the approval, rejection, and redemption of reward requests.

By configuring these settings thoughtfully, admins can create a reward system that aligns with organisational goals, incentivises advocates, and supports the platform’s gamification objectives.

Key Components of the Reward Engine

  1. Reward Settings: In this section, admins set the foundational configurations for rewards, such as points-to-token conversion ratios, dollar values per token, and token expiry settings.

  2. Reward Creation and Management: Here, admins create individual rewards, define their costs, and set the token requirements needed for redemption.

  3. Reward Request Approval and Tracking: Admins can view, approve, or reject reward requests and track the redemption status of each reward for accountability.

Note: You can only redeem a reward once. After you redeem a reward, you must choose a different one, as the same reward cannot be redeemed again.

FAQs

The Reward Engine helps incentivize advocates by offering redeemable rewards. This added motivation can increase content sharing and overall platform engagement, leading to greater brand exposure and user retention.

Yes, the Reward Engine can be configured even without historical data. A default dollar value of 100 points can be set to $1, which can be adjusted as your organization accumulates data.

The points-to-token conversion ratio is calculated based on the dollar value of tokens, your desired ROI multiplier, and other reward settings. This ratio determines how many points are needed for advocates to earn tokens, which can then be redeemed for rewards.

  • Token Expiry is designed to automatically expire tokens after a defined period, ensuring a regular cycle of token accumulation and use. Admins can select an expiry period of 1 to 5 years. For example, if set to 1 year, tokens earned in 2024 will expire on January 1, 2026.

  • Token Reset allows admins to reset all tokens for all users immediately. This feature is helpful for refreshing the token system but should ideally be preceded by an announcement to end users.

If token expiry isn’t configured, tokens will remain valid indefinitely, which can lead to token accumulation over time. Configuring an expiry date helps maintain a healthy balance and avoids excessive redemption requests in the future.
