Cisco Executive Chairman John Chambers Joins Sprinklr Board

Tech visionary sees social media and customer experience management as the most transformative investment for the modern enterprise

NEW YORK – September 21, 2017Sprinklr, the first unified customer experience management (CXM) platform for the enterprise, today announced that John Chambers, executive chairman and former CEO of Cisco, has joined Sprinklr’s Board of Directors – a major endorsement of Sprinklr’s mission to define and lead the CXM industry with a new class of enterprise software purpose-built for today’s social world.

Chambers, known for his transformative leadership, has the unique ability to identify long-term trends and market transitions. Over the course of 20 years at the helm of Cisco, Chambers helped grow the company from $70 million when he joined, to $1.2 billion when he assumed the role of CEO, to $47 billion when he stepped down as CEO in 2015. Chambers has received numerous awards for his leadership, including being named as one of the “Best-Performing CEOs in the World” in 2015 from Harvard Business Review and receiving the Edison Achievement Award for Innovation in 2016.

“Social media is driving a huge market transition, and the only way global businesses will survive is with a differentiated customer experience. CMOs and CEOs alike already recognize this, especially those who do not want to be part of the 40% or more companies that will cease doing business within the next decade,” said Chambers. “Sprinklr is at the inflection point of this shift. With its future-proof platform — the Sprinklr Experience Cloud — Sprinklr is enabling brands to compete by helping them get back to the basics and deliver more human experiences for their customers than ever before. And now, with social, they can do it at scale.”

“The first version of the internet was built on a foundation of connected devices. The current version is built on a foundation of connected people,” said Ragy Thomas, CEO and Founder, Sprinklr. “No one knows that better than John, one of the world’s most respected executives who has, time and again, anticipated massive market shifts and positioned global organizations to capitalize on them. We’re humbled to be able to tap into that rare knowledge as we work together to pursue what we believe is the single-biggest opportunity for the modern enterprise: the ability to delight every customer with a seamless experience across every touchpoint, every time.”

The addition of Chambers to Sprinklr’s Board follows a number of recent milestones:

  • Product: Expansion from social media to customer experience management. In April, Sprinklr launched five extensions of its Experience Cloud with new solutions for each major customer-facing department — marketing, advertising, research, care, and commerce — all on the first unified platform for CXM.

  • Growth: Record contract and international expansion. This year, Sprinklr has expanded into several new countries around the world, added global companies as clients and signed the largest deal in its history. Today, Sprinklr has more than 1,200 enterprise clients, is valued at $1.8 billion and has raised $228.5 million from blue-chip investors.

  • Ecosystem: New partnerships and accolades. In February, Sprinklr expanded its partnership with Twitter to drive marketing and care innovation for enterprise brands. The company also announced a number of updates with channel partners like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, and was recognized by Microsoft as its 2017 ISV of the Year and SAP Hybris as its 2017 Partner of the Year.

  • Industry: Analyst and press recognition. In July, Sprinklr was listed #14 on Forbes’ Cloud 100 list and earlier this year, was named among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company. Sprinklr is also named a Leader – the best possible designation – in all four of the following Forrester Wave reports:
