Publish Video on Twitter

Sprinklr gives you a smarter way to manage your presence on Twitter. You can leverage your Twitter account in the best possible way using Sprinklr's social publishing tool which provides you with key publishing capabilities to enhance the content you publish to Twitter. It allows you to easily schedule and publish content, target a specific audience, and engage with your followers on Twitter.

This document provides information for the Twitter Pro Media accounts, which provides whitelisted applications with advanced capability for video on Twitter. Key features available through the Pro Media API that are not available through standard Media Upload include: 

  • To upload videos up to 10:00 in duration, versus the standard 140 seconds.

  • To set metadata on uploaded videos, such as title and description.

  • To monetize via Twitter’s In-Stream Monetization programs, including opting videos into In-Stream Sponsorship or running pre-roll with In-Stream Video Ads.

  • To set geo-restricted playback to help publishers adhere to their rights agreements.

  • To enable options for playback in embedded tweets.

Note

Video settings will work for non-pro media accounts as well. Thus, the following capabilities will work for non-pro media accounts:

  • Adding the title and description of the video.

  • Adding CTA & URL for the video.

  • Customize thumbnail for videos.

  • Option to allow playback in embedded tweets.

  • Setting geo-restricted playback.

To Publish a Video on Twitter

  1. Click the Publishing Options icon in the top right of the navigation bar and select Create Post from the drop-down.

  2. In the Create Post window, search and select the required Twitter Account in the Select Accounts field. You can also use Advanced Search to narrow your searches by a series of various filters.

    Note

    • To maintain compliance with the Twitter policies, the ability to select multiple Twitter accounts at the same time in the Publisher is unavailable.

    • In addition, if you pick an account group with multiple Twitter accounts, your post will not be published on Twitter. You can only select one account for publishing at a time. 

    • You can Pin your favourite and frequently used Account(s) and Account Group(s). You will not have to go through the hassle of adding the same account every time you publish a post. This will lead to quick publishing and increase efficiency.

  3. Once you have selected the Twitter account you would like to publish to, enter the content for the post in the Message box.

    Note

    At the bottom right corner of the message box, you will see a circle icon that slowly fills in with blue the more characters you write. As you write the circle fills up and when you have reached the character limit it connects.

  4. You can tag or @mention twitter accounts in your posts. Type "@" and then begin typing a Twitter account name in the box. You’ll then see a drop-down list of potential account you can mention. Select the account you want from the list and continue typing your message. 

  5. You can also add Custom Links, Content Placeholders, previously created Text Templates or YouTube Videos to the post by clicking Insert icon.

  6. Click the Emoji Picker icon from the Message box to open the emoji menu. Use the icons at the top to browse categories, or search the emoji. Click your chosen emoji, and it'll be added to your message.

  7. Click Video to add a video from the Media Uploader (or Upload Video to select media to upload from your device).Publisher Twitter Video

  8. After adding the video, you can Add Caption and Change Thumbnail for the video.

  9. Enter a Video Title and Description to your selected video. Next, click the Emoji Picker icon from the Content box to open the emoji menu. Use the icons at the top to browse categories, or search the emoji. Click your chosen emoji, and it'll be added to your description.

    Tip 

    • If you don't enter a Title and Description, the title and description of the video will be replaced with the name of the video.

    • Character Limits for Title and Description:

      • Title — 70 Characters

      • Description — 200 Characters

  10. Select Call to Action from the drop-down menu.

  11. Enter the designated Click through URL for the Call to Action button in the bottom right corner.

    Tip 

    CTA with an URL will appear on your video in the top right corner, which users can click to navigate to that link.

  12. Check the box to enable the Option to allow playback in embedded tweets or Monetize this Video, respectively. For more information, Monetization Options for Twitter Video

    Tip 

    Embedded tweets allow for the videos to get embedded in the tweet when it is mentioned on a blog or article or any other site. An embedded tweet plays a video on the site itself. If you don't embed a tweet than clicking on the play will take the user to Twitter and then play the video.

  13. Under Geo-Restrictions, set the country restrictions by clicking None, Include and Exclude, respectively.

    Note

    Geo-restrictions helps restrict the tweet based on geography. You can include/exclude a particular country and your tweet won't appear in that country.

    Based upon your set geo-restrictions, the video will available in the specific countries.

  14. You can choose Who can reply to this Tweet from the drop-down menu. For more information, see Choose who can reply to your Tweet.

  15. You can also publish the post as a Dark Post and enable Private Messaging by checking the respective boxes.

  16. Select a campaign from the Campaign drop-down menu to associate your post with. You can also set your campaign as default by clicking Set as Default.

  17. You can select URL Shortener to shorten every link that you paste in your message. This helps you make the most of the character limit.

  18. Apply Properties to the post.

  19. Under Approval, set an Approval Type for your post. You can also add an Approval Note.

  20. The preview of the post will render on the right pane. Also, you can click the Preview icon in the bottom left corner if you have minimized the Create Post window.

  21. Click Post in the bottom right corner to publish the post on the selected Twitter account immediately. If you are not ready to publish and want to save your post as a draft, click Save as Draft.

  22. You can also schedule your post for a future date and time by clicking the Schedule Post in the bottom right corner. Select the month, date, and time of publishing. Click Apply to save your changes. 

  23. To continue publishing the post, check the given Publish Another box in the bottom.

To Add Caption to the Video

  1. After you've selected a video, click Add Caption at the bottom left corner of the video.ModernEngagement_Publisher_TwitterVideo_AddCaptions.png

  2. In the Add Video Captions pop-up window, click Add New Language and search your desired language from the drop-down menu. 

    Note

    • You can upload the caption in the following format: SRT

    • Maintain the character count of 109 characters for each group of the subtitles.

    • If the locale of the native account matches the language code with the subtitles, only then will the subtitles be visible to the user. 

  3. Next, click Add alongside the desired language to upload the subtitles for the video.Publisher_YouTubeVideo_AddCaptions_AddVideoCaptions.png

  4. Click Save in the bottom right corner of the Add Video Captions pop-up window.

To Change Thumbnail of the Video

Tip 

  • You can select a custom thumbnail while posting a Twitter video.

  • Video thumbnails capability is available for the MP4 and MOV type media files. 

  • While publishing a video to Twitter, you can select from the pre-populated thumbnail images within the publisher, or you may use an image from the Digital Asset Manager, upload an image from your device, or use an image from the video to create a custom thumbnail image.

Note

This capability would include both Twitter Card and Non-Card based creative types.

  2. In the Media Uploader window, select the Prominent Frame for the video.

  3. Click Use this frame in the bottom right corner of the Media Uploader window.

Monetization Options for Twitter Video

  1. After you've checked the Monetize this Video box, a Monetization Options prompt box will appear in the Publisher. ModernEngagement_Publisher_TwitterVideo_Monetization.png

  2. In the Monetization Options prompt box, select Exclude Tags (optional) from the drop-down menu.  

    Tip 

    If you exclude a tag, it will not let Ads of that category to appear on your video.

  3. Select Exclude advertiser @handles (optional) from the drop-down menu. You can blacklist multiple handles to show ads on your video. 

    Tip 

    Exclude advertiser @handles will not allow the user of that handle to advertise on your video.

  4. Select Monetize this video in these countries from the drop-down menu. You can select multiple countries to monetize your video.ModernEngagement_Publisher_TwitterVideo_Monetization_Countries.png

  5. Select Tag Video Category from the drop-down menu. You can select multiple categories that best describe your video.

    Tip 

    Tag video category helps in matching your video with the relevant ads based on the category you mentioned.
