WhatsApp Template Comparison
Updated
You can compare HSM templates created for a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) to evaluate their performance. By comparing templates, you can analyze key metrics such as send frequency, block-to-send ratio, and the primary reasons templates are blocked. These insights help you optimize template performance and improve overall engagement.
Limitations of Template Comparison
To compare templates effectively, ensure that the following requirements and limitations are met:
Same WhatsApp Business Account: Templates that are being compared must be in the same WhatsApp Business Account. This ensures consistency and clarity when assessing their performance.
Minimum Send Requirement: Templates need to have been sent at least 1,000 times within the specified timeframe to qualify for metric tracking and analysis. This minimum requirement ensures that there’s enough data to make meaningful assessments of the templates’ effectiveness.
Timeframe Constraints: The available lookback periods for analyzing templates are limited to 7, 30, 60, and 90 days. These timeframes allow for a focused review of template performance over different periods, offering flexibility in how you analyze and optimize campaigns.
Available Metrics for Template Comparison
The following metrics are available for assessing the performance of templates within the specified timeframes (7, 30, 60, or 90 days):
Metrics | Description |
Template Block Rate | This metric shows which template has the higher block rate (the ratio of blocks to sends). A higher block rate indicates that more recipients have blocked the template, which could suggest issues with the content or targeting. The rank of the template based on this block rate can provide valuable insight into which templates need optimization. |
Template Publication Count | The number of templates published during the timeframe must exceed 1,000 to be considered in the analysis. Templates with significant use will provide more reliable data for performance assessments. |
Top Block Reason for Each Template | It’s essential to understand why recipients are blocking a template. The top block reasons are categorized as:
|
Sprinklr and Funnel Metrics
In addition to the basic metrics, the following Sprinklr metrics and funnel data points can be helpful when evaluating the effectiveness of templates:
Sent: Number of messages sent using the template.
Delivered: Number of messages successfully delivered to recipients.
Read: Number of recipients who have opened and read the message.
Click Count: Total number of clicks made on any links within the message.
For a template to be considered effective, it’s essential that the Sent count (greater than 1,000) is higher than the Delivered count (greater than 1,000), and the Read count should ideally be higher than the Click Count.
Template Status and Category
Further categorization is available through the following metrics:
Template Status: The status of each template is categorized as Active, Quality Pending, Paused, Disabled. Monitoring these statuses helps assess the lifecycle and health of a template.
Template Category: Templates are also classified based on their purpose: Marketing, Utility, Authentication. Understanding the category helps businesses determine the overall performance of templates within specific use cases, whether marketing, utility-related notifications, or authentication messages.
