Pivot Table Visualization
Updated
A Pivot Table is a visualization widget that allows you to analyze and summarize large datasets by organizing and grouping data based on multiple dimensions and attribute levels. Users can interact with the Pivot Table widget to explore the data further, drill down into subcategories, and adjust the table layout to focus on the most relevant data.
One of the key benefits of the Pivot Table widget is its flexibility, which allows you to quickly adjust the dimensions and attributes you are using to analyze your data. This makes it easy to identify trends and insights that need to be apparent when viewing the data in its raw form.
To create a Pivot Table Widget
The Pivot Table widget can be plotted in any custom reporting dashboard, depending on permissions. To get started, you can use any existing editable dashboard or create a new one. Refer to this article to learn how to set up a Custom Dashboard.
Once you have the dashboard where you want to add the visualisation widget, follow the steps below:
On the Custom Dashboard, click + Add Widget in the top right corner.
On the widget builder, enter the widget's name and select the data source as Service Analytics.
Select Pivot Table as a visualization type.
Under the “What would you like to plot on your widget?” section, you will be given the below fields:
Levels: You can choose any desired dimensions to plot at different levels.
Columns: Choose the metrics you want to see against your desired dimensions.
You can also choose more than one dimension to plot on the same level to see them side by side.
Select the configuration options as desired. For more information, refer to the ‘Configuration options’ section below.
Under the "Defined Advanced Options" section, you can apply filters, define additional properties and set personalized targets with these options.
Click Add to Dashboard on the bottom right corner to create a new widget.
Once the Widget is added to the Dashboard, you can click on Hide Sub-Headers option. This option helps to hide headers beyond Level 1 in Pivot Table widget configurations, giving you greater control over how your data is displayed. This enhancement helps reduce visual clutter, allowing you to focus on the most relevant information and view more data at a glance. It's especially useful when working with deep hierarchies or multi-level expansions, enabling a cleaner layout and more efficient analysis within complex datasets.
Even if you refresh the option or switch between tabs, the hide subheader feature will still stay enabled.
Note:
The previous view state would be maintained for the pivot table, including all expanded rows and drop-downs, even after you switch between tabs within the Sprinklr environment to maintain continuity. Additionally, the Reset Table functionality allows you to quickly collapse all expanded rows and return to the default view when needed. These updates improve usability and efficiency, especially when working with complex, multi-level datasets.
If a column header is too long for the adjusted width, it will be automatically truncated with an ellipsis or a tooltip to keep things clean and readable. Truncation happens only in Compact view (the minimum height of the pivot table remains at 80px), and for Non-compact view (for non-compact view, it is 100px), the text gets wrapped in the column width.
Note: This is restricted to Enterprise View.
Configuration options
The configuration options available for the Table widget will work as follows:
Configuration Option | Action |
Do you want to label the axis? | If you want to add names for your axis, you can select this configuration option, and then you can enter the desired names as labels. |
Show Total | Selecting this option will show the total sum of the metric for each column. |
